Episode 2 “Can Do” Recipe: Toasted Breadcrumbs
Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
Drizzle olive oil to coat the bottom of a wide, heavy bottom skillet.
Add enough coarse breadcrumbs to fill the skillet about halfway up the sides.
Now add more olive oil to lightly coat the breadcrumbs and gently stir.
Place the skillet on the middle shelf of your preheated oven.
Toast the breadcrumbs stirring every 10 minutes or so or until they are deep golden brown in color… about 30 minutes.
Cool and store in a container with a tight fitting lid in the fridge.
Tips from Episode 2:
- Pick up a scrap slab of granite from a nearby stoneyard to use as a heatproof surface for hot pots from stove to counter.
- Cleanse your pantry and purge dried spices and herbs once a year.
- To extend its shelf life… let your produce air chill in the fridge. Would you want to be in a plastic bag?
